| Description: |
You may hear Croeso I Cymru, “Welcome to Wales” as you arrive at Save the Family (STF), a ministry that gives hope to homeless and hurting people. After Boot Camp training, you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Newark, New Jersey. From Newark you fly across the Atlantic Ocean and Ireland, before arriving in Manchester, England. From Manchester it is a two-hour bus ride to STF, located 12 miles across the border from Chester, England. STF has two locations, one in Plas Balin Hall near Northop Hall, Flintshire, Wales and the other in Chester. You will be involved with projects at both locations! Whether it is building an exercise course, painting, landscaping or doing a children’s program using the music, puppets and dramas learned at Boot Camp, you will be busy. The landscape of Wales is dotted with castles everywhere and you may get the opportunity to visit a few of them. The Conwy, Caenarvan and Ewloe Castles are located near STF. There will be an opportunity to visit Snowdonia National Park, and hike some of the majestic mountains. The warm and friendly hospitality you will be shown by the Welsh people, is a true credit to the country. You will need to sample some of England’s famous fish ‘n’ chips while out shopping for English teas, china, soccer memorabilia and other souvenirs of your summer. |
