| Description: |
Travel into the remote northern region of Malawi, to the homeland of the Tumbuka Tribe. Following Boot Camp, you will bus to the Orlando International Airport to begin your journey to the Lilongwe International Airport via Washington D. C. and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Your first stop will be to present yourself before the King of the Tumbuka people, then you will continue on to the Teen Missions property, near the bend in the South Rukuru River.
This property hosts four different ministries: an AIDS Orphans Rescue Unit, a Motorcycle Sunday School Mission Circuit, the Chitumbuka Bible, Missionary & Work Training Center, and the Lord’s Boot Camp. Your team will construct a multi-purpose building that all these ministries will make use of once it is completed.
You will also share the love of Jesus in the nearby villages and markets through children’s programs, helping with Sunday School classes, and one-on-one conversations with teenagers who will be there attending the camp. Although the tribe mostly speaks the Tumbuka language, many of the youth also speak English and will be eager to practice it with you. After your project, you will experience two of Africa’s most unique landscapes. You will drive a short distance south to the Vwaza Marshlands, where you will see a large number of animals like large herds of elephants and scores of hippos as they come to drink. You will then journey to the Chelinda Camp, located on the Nyika Plateau and spend an unforgettable night in the Afromontane grassland, one of Africa’s rarest and most beautiful vistas. |
