Experience a summer you will never forget in Finland, the “Land of the Midnight Sun”. Following Boot Camp training, you bus to the OrlandoInternationalAirport and fly across the AtlanticOcean and Greenland to Frankfurt, Germany. A connecting flight takes you to Kuopio via Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. From the airport you will travel one hour by bus through the beautiful lake-filled countryside dotted with quaint, red and yellow houses to the small village of Koivumaki, 15 miles from the well-known Tahko ski area. Your project will be to renovate an old wooden building into dorms and a prayer chapel for Youth With A Mission. You will have the opportunity to present the Gospel through puppets, music and drama. During the early morning hours, you might even see moose grazing at the base. The sun will literally never set as you experience almost 24 hours of daylight. The girls will be sleeping in dorms while the boys will be in tents. Hot showers and wash tubs for laundry are available. While in Finland, you will have the opportunity to go sightseeing in Helsinki and also shop for souvenirs such as wood carvings, Finnish glass and decorations made from reindeer antlers and skins.
