The tropical shores and lively beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica cover up the more serious issues that many of the bustling country's residents face such as drug and alcohol abuse. Addiction has plagued the country for many years, torn apart families and left many Jamaicans with little hope for the future. You can respond to the country's great need by partnering with Next Step Ministries in building a recovery house for Jamican residents who are suffering from addiction. A five-year vision in the making, the recovery house will reach out to the community by providing a consisten, Christ-centered recovery program led by Robert Ingraham, a minister who successfully pioneered the program in the United States. You will have the opportunity to do foundational, block and cement work, digging and landscaping as well as additional projects for residents in need around the area. These projects will include home repairs, additions and rebuilds. Your free day will take you into the community, up to the top of Ocho Rios' claim to fame, Dunn's River Falls and onto the pristine beaches. Through interaction with the Jamaicans, you will learn more about the culture and how to deliver hope to a nation that is hard-pressed to find it on their own sunny shores.
