China Medical Mission to Orphans

Description: This team will be working with New Day foster care home in Beijing to provide therapy training for the caregivers. We will be doing workshops, presentations, and one on one demonstration for the caregivers that work with the children on a day to day basis. We will also have a unique opportunity to take our training into a few of the government orphanages. 

This trip is also open to non-medical professionals, other opportunities to serve include working in the preschool, teaching English, and helping with the babies. 

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 Depart Hometown, USA.
Day 2 Arrive in Beijing, China.
Day 3-6 New Day Foster Care Home – Various projects at the special needs home in Qingyundian.
Day 7-8 Harmony House
Day 9 Sightseeing in Beijing – Great Wall,
Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden Palace, and the Chinese Acrobat Show.
Day 10 Shopping in Beijing – Silk Market.
Depart Beijing.

Project Details - 
Your team will train caregivers from several orphanages around the Beijing area who care for children with a variety of special needs. Workshops, presentations, and demonstrations will be organized. Work one-on-one with several of the children living in the orphanage.

Physical Therapists (especially Pediatric), Occupational Therapists, Music Therapists, Art Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Nurses, Special Ed Teachers, English Teachers, and Pre-Kindergarten teachers are desired.
