Kilimanjaro Backpack

Sharing the Gospel among the Chagga people of Tanzania on Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the world’s tallest free-standing mountains, will be an experience of a lifetime!

ΘTravel: After Commissioning you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Washington D.C. before boarding a flight across the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara Desert to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A connecting flight takes you across the Equator to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You then bus one hour to the Teen Missions in Tanzania Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center, located at the base of the mountain.

≅Ministry: Your team will continue construction on the BMW building. After the project time is completed, you will backpack on the lower slopes of the mountainside to remote villages.  After pitching your tents, your team will hike into surrounding villages to present the Gospel using puppets and personal testimonies. Watch the faces of the children light up as you come into their schools bringing the story of Jesus to them for the first time. Warning: This team is not for the faint of heart. Members should be in good physical health and free of respiratory difficulties.

⎭Adventure: Before returning home, you will have the opportunity to put your bartering skills into action while you shop for souvenirs such as drums, jewelry and wood carvings.
