We will partner with Church planters and local missionaries, to form teams for evangelism, construction, VBS, medical, clinics and tech support. Everyone has a place on the team in Costa Rica. We’ll experience the rainforest, mountains, and volcanoes while helping others experience freedom, forgiveness and the transforming love of Jesus Christ. Quitirrisi & Jaco Beach
o Quitirrisi. Perched 3000 ft from the valley floor, they live in small homes where they make handicrafts from vegetable fiber for roadside sales to tourist.
o Jaco Beach. While the surf and party scene give an alluring exterior, the barrios of this city are filled with poverty, drugs, alcohol, and prostitution. The Nicaraguans that have moved to Costa Rica for a better life are looked down on by nationals. Many are illegally in Costa Rica so they won’t get proper medical treatment for fear of being sent back to Nicaragua. Most end up in the barrios such as one that is in “the River Bed.” They remain trapped in utter poverty.
You will work in side by side with church plants and missionaries in concentrated areas of Costa Rica. We are setting up different ministry teams (medical, construction, evangelism, vbs, technical, cosmetology, surf clinics, and soccer outreach all in 1 barrio in Jaco Beach and in the mountain areas of San Jose working with indigenous, saturating them with the love of Jesus Christ in a real and tangible way!
You are unique…
BWO believes that uniqueness is hard-wired into every human being. God created each of us to be uniquely ourselves. Why not let God take our unique blend of gifts, talents, skills, personality, background, and life experiences, and fully express who we have been born to be: a child of God, loving all kinds of people from all kinds of places that have all kinds of needs.
Here’s a look at a few of the different skills used on a BWO missions trip. Does a few of these sound like you? o Hold a baby o Paint a door o Sweep a floor o Share the love of Jesus o Sing a Song o Hammer a nail o Pick up trash o Kick a soccer ball o Change a diaper o Share the story of Jesus o Wipe a nose o Hold an orphan o Feed a baby o Read a book o Play a game o Paint fingernails |
