Trek your way into the hearts and lives of the delightful people ofCameroon! You will be the vessel God uses as you share the Gospel in remote rural villages where few have ever heard the life-changing message of the Gospel. Following training at the Lord’s Boot Camp you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight toWashington D.C. A connecting flight takes you across the Atlantic Ocean and Western Europe, to Rome, Italy. After refueling you continue across the Mediterranean Sea, the sands of the Sahara Desert and the mighty Nile River before arriving in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. From here you fly west to Douala, Cameroon. From Douala your team buses 225 miles northwest to the Teen Missions in Cameroon basein Nsongwa, located near Bamenda. You will spend a brief time at the Cameroon Boot Camp helping train the Cameroonian youth and performing in the evening rallies as the MTCs (Missionaries To Cameroon). You will travel and establish a base camp and trek to surrounding villages, taking the message of Christ through dramas, puppets, balloons, soccer, children’s games and the showing of the JESUS Film. You will bring hope to the lives of the people in this region—many of whom are desperately poor, mislead by the practices of traditional religions and are orphans and widows as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The hospitality and friendliness of these people will overwhelm you as you make new friends daily. Housing is in tents; bathing and laundry are done using a bucket. Spend an afternoon in Bamenda bartering for jewelry, drums, slingshots, swords, baskets and stunning fabrics. You return to Addis Ababa for Ethiopia Debrief. (Note: Ethiopia Debrief) |
