Ready for an exciting summer serving God in exotic Madagascar? Why wait? Start packing for your mission to the fourth largest island in the world, located off Africa’s southeast coast. Following training at the Lord’s Boot Camp you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Washington D.C. From Washington a flight takes you across the Atlantic Ocean,Ireland and the United Kingdom, to Paris, France. A connecting flight across theMediterranean Sea, the Sahara Desert and the Equator takes you to Antananarivo, the capital city of Madagascar. A 14-hour truck ride up the northwestern coast takes you to the Teen Missions in Madagascar Bible, Missionary & Work (BMW) Training Center outside the port city of Mahajanga. After settling in, Boot Camp starts. Oh noÉBoot Camp again? Not at all! This time YOU will be running it! You will teach the classes and help judge the Obstacle Course and just wait until you experience a Malagasy Rally! You will also be doing a work project at the BMW. Another part of your ministry will be teaching English to local children who cannot afford to attend public school. Throughout your summer you will have many opportunities to share Christ through music, drama and puppets. Housing is in dorms; bathing and laundry is done using buckets. During free time you may visit a natural spring and waterfall or swim in the Indian Ocean. Make friends with lemurs, eat new foods and try your hand at bartering for items including hammocks, drums, knives and woven baskets. Following project time, you return to Paris and bus through France to Switzerlandfor Debrief. (Note: Switzerland Debrief) |
