China Childrens Home/English Teaching |
| Description: |
Bustling cities and remote villages, ancient civilizations and modern advancements contrast in China, the most populous nation in the world. Experience firsthand the complexity of this spiritually hungry nation as you share Christ’s love with those you meet. Following Boot Camp you bus to the Orlando International Airport for a flight to Los Angeles. You then cross the Pacific Ocean and theInternational Date Line, before arriving in Hong Kong. A connecting flight along the South China Sea coastline takes you toFuzho City, China. After a two-hour bus ride through large cities, lush rolling hills and small villages, you arrive at your project site in Luo Yuan, Xian. Your team will have a dual role—teaching English to local youth and building staff housing at the Hiromi Children’s Recovery Center (HCRC). HCRC is a school that provides help and hope for special-needs children and young adults who are otherwise considered a burden and of no value to society. You will learn just how creative you can be as you teach English using puppets, music, testimonies, balloons and drama. Housing will be in dorms and showers are available. Laundry will be done using a bucket. A day trip will be planned to Fuzhou City where souvenirs such as jewelry, wall hangings and your favorite Chinese teas are available. Your team will also take a boat trip in Luo Yuan Bay where you will see floating fishing villages surrounded by scenic mountains. Following your project time, you will have to bid goodbye to your new-found Chinese friends and travel back to Hong Kong where you will overnight in a hotel before flying to Florida for Debrief. |
