Outreach Staff is Thrive Africa’s short-term missions opportunity. The program is designed to give young adults hands-on experience in ministering to nationals and facilitating outreach teams in South Africa. The Outreach Staff Program is targeted at young people with prior missions experience who desire to go to the next level and see the other side of mission team hosting. Outreach Staff assist Thrive Africa in hosting mission teams, playing an active role in organizing behind-the-scenes logistics – from meals and housing to ministry sites and interpreters – while gaining invaluable knowledge and experience in a cross-cultural environment. Outreach Staff also have incredible opportunities for personal ministry to the nationals through relationship evangelism and service projects. Through our Outreach Staff Program, Thrive Africa endeavors to provide authentic hands-on missions experiences through ministry in rural villages, building relationships with nationals, and discipling local Believers. We coach young leaders to soar to the heights of their potential, propelling them towards God’s heart for the nations of the world to be reached with the life-altering love of Jesus. Outreach Staff have the opportunity to be involved in:
- Working closely with full-time missionaries
- Assisting in the planning and facilitation of team logistics
- Overseeing daily team ministry
- Working on the mission base
- Developing relationships with team members and nationals
- Engaging in one-on-one ministry
- Developing personally
Outreach Staff also experience awesome adventures: going on a safari through a game reserve, shopping in an African market, and eating a meal of exotic meats such as zebra or ostrich! The teams Thrive Africa hosts will be involved in a variety of ministry types which you may have the opportunity to assist with and participate in. The main form of ministry you and the teams will be involved in is relationship evangelism and discipleship: ministering to people in their homes through acts of service and relationship-building. You may also have the opportunity to be involved in children’s ministry. |
