| Title: |
Photograph the Peoples of New York City |
| Description: |
I have been working on a project to obtain information and create profiles of all the "people groups" in New York City. These profiles we develop will be used for prayer, ministry, and church planting mobilization. A volunteer photographer would receive directions on where to go in New York to photograph shops, people, places of worship, and the essence of different ethnic groups in the city. Around 50% of NYC speaks a language other than English at home. Around 60% of the city is foreign-born or children of foreign-born. However, a big problem exists. No one knows, as a whole, who these people are. You will come to participate in a project that will tell the world about the peoples of NYC, in order that Christians can play their role in "making disciples of all nations," even within the borders of one great city! |

Requirements:
(age, abilities, qualifications) |
At least some photography experience is needed, and you will need to provide your own digital camera. This camera needs to be decent enough to feature photographs in a published book. You will need to sign a waiver that releases your photographs to All Peoples Initiative, to be used for missions mobilization publications regarding the peoples of NYC. |
Cost:
(travel expenses,
room & board...) |
As many of the ethnic groups you will be photographing live in the outer boroughs of NYC, you will not need to stay in the more expensive borough of Manhattan. You could stay in Queens, Brooklyn, or even NJ and get around by subway, bus, and train to wherever you need to go. |
