Over 2.5 billion people live in ethnic groups with no self-sufficient, indigenous church capable of evangelizing the rest of the group; however, only 1 in every 40 missions goers ministers to them. Make an eternal impact serving with Global Frontier Missions among the unreached indigenous groups of Oaxaca (pronounced wah-HA-cah), southern Mexico! GFM hosts two summer internship for 18- to 25-year-olds--Global Adventures and Missions Extreme. Global Adventures interns spend the summer helping us host youth and adult teams and individuals who come on 10-day mission trips. On each mission trip, we train the participants and then plug them into ministries such as teaching English, drilling wells, putting on medical clinics, and doing water filtration projects, all with an emphasis on evangelism in the contexts of relationships. Missions Extreme interns work alongside our full-time church planting staff, getting their feet wet in "real life" missions. They learn the strategies our church planting team employs and then put them to use while learning language, developing relationships, and sharing the gospel. Interns in both programs receive plenty of training and mentoring, as well as having lots of opportunities to serve and put into practice what they're learning. The dates for both internships are June 7 to August 9, 2008. Cost is US$700, plus airfare to and from Mexico City. The internship fees cover all food, housing, transportation, and ministry expenses while in Mexico, as well as an occasional taco night. To learn more about the internships, visit http://www.globalfrontiermissions.com/ or email us. Click here to download an application packet that describes both internships in more detail, the state of Oaxaca, what GFM is all about, what to bring, and the full registration process. We'd love to have you join us for a summer of seeking God, growing spiritually, establishing lifelong relationships with other interns, and making an eternal impact among the unreached. God bless! |
