Mission Statement:
We work among the Tarahumara Indians that live in the Copper Canyon region of the western Sierra Madres Mountains in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. We work to provide clean drinking water and other life improving projects in the remote villages and communities. We also are bringing the Gospel by showing the Jesus Film in areas where it has never been before.
My family and I are originally from Corinth, a small town located in northeast Mississippi. We are members of The First Church of Corinth. We accepted the call into the ministry six years ago after a rededication to the Lord and a short term missionary trip. We lived 4 1/2 years in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico working with two orphanages and drilling water wells. Recently we received the opportunity to expand into an area largely unreached by the Gospel and in need of one of life's most needed requirements-water. By combining the Gospel, "The living Water" and the physical water we have been able to more effectively reach these areas for Christ.
Doctrinal Statement:
1. God: We believe that the office of the God Head is held by three distinct persons revealed as God the Father, the author and creator of everything, Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God, The Holy Spirit. These three agree in one and are considered one, just as the union of a man and wife are considered one.
2. The Word of God: We believe that the Bible as translated by King James in 1610 to be the only true, reliable, accurate translation (apart from the original manuscripts) to base study, doctrine and faith upon. While there are newer versions out there that aid in understanding through modern language, we continue to use the KJV as our final reference.
3. Jesus Christ: We believe that He became man, without ceasing to be equal with God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was born, lived and died physically, having experienced all the joys, pain and temptations of man, but without sin and was resurrected from the dead and has ascended to Heaven and is now at the right hand of God the Father. He has become our High Priest, Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
4.The Holy Spirit: We believe He is the one who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the means of regeneration, baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, indwells and seals us till the day of our redemption. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as mentioned in the Word, and that they are still valid for today if operated according to the guidelines of the Bible. We are to desire the gifts of the Spirit for the Body of Christ to be edified. We believe that love, a fruit of the Spirit, is more important than all the gifts, because without love all the gifts would be worthless.
5. Man: We believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and because of Adam, all are born into this world lost, and only through Christ's blood and the regeneration of the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual maturity be obtained.
6. Salvation: We believe that the only means by which a person can be saved is by voluntary acception of the forgiveness offered through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is God's free gift and not through any work of man.
7. Baptism: We believe in water baptism ( immersion) as set forth in the example left for us by Jesus Christ. We do not believe that a person is saved by baptism alone. It is an outward confession that an inward change has been made.
8. The Church: We believe that since Christ is head of the Church world-wide and that every local church is an individual part of His body, each has the right in the spirit of love and unity, to decide and govern its own local affairs.
9. The Purpose of the Church: Jesus commissioned the Church before His ascension into Heaven that we are to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world, baptize and to disciple men of every nation till every ear has heard His Gospel.
10. Resurrection: We believe in a bodily resurrection of every person who ever lived, some to eternal life and some to eternal destruction.
11. The Return of Jesus Christ: We believe in a soon and physical return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to set up a Kingdom in which His redeemed will reign forever.
